The Story Behind Trout & Timber

My love for fly fishing started when I was a young teenager, and I've been fishing and tying my own flies ever since. Over the years, I've spent countless hours exploring rivers, streams, and mountain lakes throughout Colorado, with a special love for the incredible trout waters of Wyoming. There's just something about standing in a river, surrounded by mountains, chasing wild trout that never gets old.

I've also been passionate about woodworking for most of my life. I've always been a hands-on, “I can figure out how to build just about anything” kind of guy. Whether it's working with wood, solving a problem, or trying something I've never done before, I've always enjoyed the challenge of creating something with my own two hands.

Trout & Timber is where those two lifelong passions come together.

What started as a way to combine my love of fly fishing and woodworking has grown into creating one-of-a-kind pieces inspired by the fish and places I love. Each trout board is handcrafted using beautiful hardwoods and layers of colored epoxy, carefully poured by hand to capture the unique colors and markings of wild trout.

I also create custom fly-tying desks and other pieces designed for people who share my appreciation for the outdoors, craftsmanship, and things made to last.

Every piece I make is a little different, just like every trout and every stretch of river. That's part of what I love about it. I don't mass-produce anything. I build each piece individually, paying attention to the details and taking pride in the finished product.

For me, Trout & Timber is more than woodworking. It's a way to bring a little bit of the rivers, mountains, and experiences I've enjoyed throughout my life into something others can appreciate and enjoy for years to come.

Handcrafted in Colorado. Inspired by the water. Built with passion.
